In order to enhance understanding and friendship and promote cooperation, on May 6, the Chinese Ambassador to Malawi ,Mr. Lin Songtian invited Mr.lyuza, Permanent Secretary of Malawi Foreign Affairs and other high-ranked officials from the ministry of foreign affairs , the President of the Construction Contractors Association and its members ,and the mainstream media journalists ,which is more than 40 in number, to visit project site of Malawi Parliament Building aided by China under construction, for them understanding the progress of construction and then he held a discussion with the visitors.

In the visiting site, Ambassador Lin invited Mr.Xia Fang, the person in charge of the project, undertaken by AnHui Foreign Economic and Construction (Group)Co.,Ltd to give a brief introduction on the works progress and project program. “Since Phase I Extension Project commenced in February, progress has been obviously achieved, and currently, both equipment and raw materials had been in position,190 Chinese staff and above 270 local employees slicked together and intensively worked. It is expected that the whole frame structure will be completed by July and simultaneously capping achieved. Furthermore, China party is confident of completion, assuring of the quality and quantity and handing over a classical project to Malawi government and its people”, Mr.Xia said

And Ambassador Lin said ,” the Chinese government attaches great importance to the aided Malawi parliament building project, has taken the exceptional measure, in a relatively short period of time to complete the site investigation, design and select the construction contractors and other necessary procedures to ensure that the project starts in time. After repeated inspections, I get satisfied with and proud of the project construction progress. Today, everybody here is invited to visit the site in order to let you all witness the Chinese practical actions for keeping his promise and know the project construction of high quality ,consequently for enhancing mutual understanding and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation.

Ambassador Lin also emphasized, “The Chinese government has always thought that relations between countries should be conducive to national development, and bring benefit to its people. There is a great potential for mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation between China and Malawi, and both countries should seize the opportunity; strengthen their cooperation to benefit the people. For this reason, Chinese Embassy and I are willing to cooperate together to provide the necessary information support and facilitation services for developing cooperation between business communities of both countries.

The permanent secretary of Malawi Mr.Lyuza , on behalf of the Malawi government ,highly commended Chinese government and his people on offering the selfish help and was very much delighted with the significant progress on Malawi parliament building project and rapid development of relation between Malawi and China and then conveyed his wishes that Malawi parliament building, a token of friendship of people across both countries ,could be completed as early as possible by joint effort of construction personnel between two peoples.
